Happy New Year...! It's like the iPhone 5s.. The S stands for "Same shit." I felt that the holidays weren't really "the holidays." It came and went and here we are in January. I would have thought that being in school would make me more appreciative of the holidays because I get a break from Dec. 20 to Jan. 1. I guess because I got sick during that time and didn't get to do the holiday outings that people do. Honestly, it felt just another day or week for me. Though I have been noticing that people that I know, and don't, can be really stupid most of the times...
Social media is a window to have everyone see how you are, or not. Most of the time, it brings out the worst in people. You log into the site. You see your page feed. You see pictures with captions. Then you see something that is posted by someone that you have known in your younger years. They are complaining that their kids have no respect and they don't help out. You give your "friendly" opinion, because that is what social media sites are for right? Giving friends a hand on what is going on with their lives. It seems that your opinion doesn't go well on what your friend is reading, and you notice you don't see them on your stream anymore. Hrmm. Guess can't take help well or it isn't what they wanted to hear.
Another thing that I notice is that people would be posting things that are offensive to others. Just because THEY aren't offended by it, doesn't mean that OTHERS won't be too. It's more worse when this person is in the medical field and they take health problems of their patients and make it a joke. "We work in the medical field, we have to have humor in our job because we work 12+ hours with these people!" Well tough titties. If you find yourself surrounded by people who are sick, don't go back to the nurses corral and make jokes of the sicknesses. Maybe you shouldn't be a nurse after all, if you make jokes about your patients. This clearly shows that they don't like their job.
With these two on the top of my bitch fest this evening, I feel that just because I knew people back then, doesn't mean that I still know them now. Seeing these people after 10 years of being out of high school and seeing how they act or think disappoints me. Typing condescending comments to just deleting people off their list because they said something wrong doesn't show signs of being an adult or even attempting on growing up.
Why do I have these people on my feed? Good question. Thanks for the memories of childhood. Unfortunately you're still in it, and I don't need to see that.
